Aspects Literature Festival |
|
The Aspects Literature Festival attracts readers and writers from all over Ireland to the North Down Museum in Bangor. The increasingly popular event features the cream of Irish writing talent and promises to deliver an exhilarating programme. The Festival this year takes place from 24-28 September in the North Down Museum (formerly North Down Heritage Centre) and other venues in Bangor. The festival is now in its 17th year and has a varied programme of writers to suit all tastes and interests, including an eclectic mix of prose and poetry and workshops for budding authors.
Bloomfield Shopping Centre is particularly associated with Young Aspects a scheme where authors visit local primary schools enthusing children about writing. The pieces resulting from these visits are judged and winners will be rewarded at an awards ceremony in the Centre at 4 p.m. on Tuesday 23rd September. | |
The Young Aspects Show Case is an “open mic” event held at the Museum on Saturday 27th at 4 p.m. with young people of all ages show-casing their poems and stories.
