Citybeat Young Star Search is back!

Northern Ireland’s biggest ever kids talent search gets under way in May and arrives in Bloomfield Shopping Centre on Saturday 27th June 2009.

Last year’s event enjoyed huge success, with Caitlin McClurg from Bangor winning the senior section following more than 25,000 listener votes. Caitlin went on to record a CD single which was launched at Bloomfield and perform her winning song in front of thousands of people at the Christmas Light switch on in Belfast.

Local X Factor star Eoghan Quigg launched this year’s competition which will be hosted by Citybeat afternoon drive presenter Stuart Robinson and his side kick ‘Work Experience Boy’ who will be travelling around the country during the summer months.

With prizes including a massive shopping spree, the opportunity to record a CD single and the chance for the winner and their family to board the Easyjet love plane to Paris, Malaga, Amsterdam, London or Barcelona”.

Auditions will be held in May at Movie House with successful young singers then progressing into their local heat where judges including top Northern Ireland DJ/Producer Mickey Modelle will help select three singers from each heat to face the weekly public vote.  Citybeat listeners then get the casting vote to determine which hopeful will represent that area in the contest’s finals which will take place in August.
