Saturday 3rd April will see two teams of eight cyclists on the mall in front of Tesco trying to cycle a combined total of 214 miles (343.49km) - equivalent to the distance from Belfast to Cork!

In order to achieve this each cyclist will be expected to cover 26.7 miles (43km) as quickly as possible during their time in the saddle. The team whose cyclists hit the 214 mile mark first will win the race – though the runners-up will still have to complete their task!

Obviously the competitors aren’t just doing this for their own enjoyment – they’re hoping that their Herculean efforts will persuade shoppers to give generously to MB 4 Alzheimer’s
